You may have seen a clip circulating the internet of a giant robot head with laser eyes shooting at the earth, causing fireballs and pyrotechnics to erupt in its wake.

That incredible multimedia display was a massive group effort headed by Verge Aero and Spirit of ’76 Fireworks, presented at the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) 2023 Convention in Oshkosh, WI.

To see the firework products used in this display, view the cue sheet linked below. All fireworks were 1.4 (UN0336, UN0431, & UN0432) courtesy of Spirit of ’76 Fireworks.

In the BoomCast podcast episode below, we chat with some of the talent behind this incredible multimedia drone + pyrotechnics display that took place at PGI 2023 convention and is a trendsetting moment in the live entertainment industry.

The drone work for this display was done by Verge Aero, with their drone fleet supplemented with drones from their network partners Flylight Drones, Fantasy Drones, and Rozzi Famous Fireworks for a total of 850 drones in this display. The pyrotechnics were provided by Spirit of ’76 and scripted by Dan Haines of Astro Magic FX, with set-up assistance from the Kansas City Area Pyrotechnicians. The pyrotechnic portion of the show was shot via Cobra Firing Systems.
