New Years fireworks retail marketing

Checklist: Promote your Fireworks Retail Store

Sell more fireworks this New Year’s season by promoting your fireworks retail store, stand, or tent with these effective and low-cost marketing tips.

1. Update your hours

List or update your holiday hours across all digital platforms – including your Google Business Profile (business.google.com), your Facebook Business page (facebook.com), and your store’s website. Be sure to also display your hours on your storefront.

2. Utilize email

That email list you built up over the 4th of July season will come in handy. Announce your holiday hours and any deals you’ll have this season via your list of customer emails. You can build your mailing list and send emails for free using a service like MailChimp.

3. Put your store on the map

Having your retail location listed on a fireworks dealer map can be a huge advantage for your business. If you purchase fireworks from Spirit of ’76 you can apply to get your store location(s) listed on our dealer map.

4. Get reviews online

Word of mouth is a powerful tool that can earn you new customers. Encourage your in-store shoppers to leave a review via Google, or to “Like” your Facebook page. Consider offering an incentive for the folks who do so, such as a free pack of snappers, if they show that they left a review using their phone at checkout.

Bonus tip: If you have a Facebook post with lots of Likes/Reactions, click the number of Reactions on that post. This will show you a list of people who Reacted to the post and from here, you can “Invite” people to Like your page if they haven’t yet. Here’s how to do it.

5. Sell up with QR codes

Help your in-store shoppers make their selections faster with QR codes that link to each products’ video. Displaying the code on each price tag is a good idea. Spirit of ’76 makes this easy with our pre-designed price tags that you can download when signed in to your wholesale account – here’s how.

6. Sell fireworks online

These days, everyone and their mother shops online! Why not make your fireworks inventory available online as well? This is possible with ’76 PyroShop, an all-in-one eCommerce solution for the fireworks retailer. You can present your real-time inventory, sell products, get sales analytics, and much more 24/7/365. Bonus tip: In #3 we recommended putting your store on the map. Fireworks retailers who use ’76 PyroShop have their location listed and website linked on fireworksdealers.com.

7. Consider a partnership

The holiday season is often a time when people are feeling charitable. Consider partnering with a local charity on a mid-week day when you don’t expect to have as much traffic as New Year’s Eve. Many small businesses find success supporting a fundraiser or hosting a one-day profit share with a local not-for-profit.

8. Try local radio ads

Many stores and restaurants play local radio stations for their patrons. Imagine people hearing an ad about your fireworks store while doing their Christmas shopping! Consider purchasing ads with your local radio station. Make sure to ask for options that will serve ads to your store’s target demographic during ideal run times.
